Patio & Pool Deck Leveling in St. Joseph, MO

A patio that has tipped back toward the house is not just ugly. It is sending every rainfall at your foundation. Leveling fixes the slope and the trip edge in one visit.

Why patios tip toward the house

Patios are usually poured on backfill — the loose ground put back after the foundation went in. Backfill keeps compacting for years. The edge nearest the house settles fastest, so the slab slowly rotates inward and reverses the drainage the builder intended.

On loess-bluff lots, roof runoff finishes the job. Water follows the new slope, soaks the soil at the foundation, freezes over the winter, and the gap between the slab and the house grows a little wider every spring.

Pool decks are their own problem

Pool decks are thin, wide, and constantly wet. Voids under them tend to be broad and shallow, which is exactly the situation foam handles better than slurry. Lifting also closes the gaps that let water run behind the coping instead of off the edge.

Because foam cures in minutes and adds almost no weight, a deck lift does not require draining anything or waiting days to walk on it.

Questions

Patio & Pool Deck Leveling questions

What does patio leveling cost?

National 2026 data puts a typical 150 sq ft patio lift at roughly $600–$1,400. Slope correction, number of panels, and access all move that number, and you get a written estimate before work starts.

Will leveling crack my patio?

A controlled lift is slow and monitored with a level. Existing cracks may move slightly as the panel returns to grade; new cracking is uncommon on a slab in sound condition.

Can you level pavers or stamped concrete?

Stamped concrete lifts like any other slab and keeps its pattern. Pavers are a different repair — they get reset rather than injected.
